Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a narrowly scoped helper for querying public Rover sitter and trainer data through the disclosed Crawlora API.

Before installing, be comfortable with sending pet-service search inputs such as location, service type, and profile slugs to Crawlora along with your Crawlora API key. Avoid entering sensitive personal details beyond what is needed for the search, and keep the API key in your environment or secrets tooling rather than source files or logs.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Lp3

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
82% confidence
Finding
The skill invokes a shell helper (`scripts/crawlora.sh`) but does not declare any tool restrictions such as `permissions` or `allowed-tools`. That increases the attack surface because an agent may permit broader shell execution than is necessary, making misuse or prompt-injection-driven command execution easier if this skill is selected.

External Transmission

Content
Endpoints this skill uses, grouped by platform. Call them via `scripts/crawlora.sh` (see SKILL.md).

All paths are relative to the API base `https://api.crawlora.net/api/v1` and require the header `x-api-key: $CRAWLORA_API_KEY`. Path params like `{id}` are substituted into the URL; `GET` params go in the query string; `POST` params go in a JSON body.

**4 endpoints across 1 platform group(s).**
Confidence
80% confidence
Finding
The skill explicitly transmits user-supplied query data such as location and profile slugs to an external service at api.crawlora.net. In this skill context, that external transmission is expected functionality, but it still creates a real privacy and data-governance risk because user inputs and usage metadata leave the local trust boundary and depend on a third party.

Finding
Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Confidence
85% confidence
Finding
This markdown file explicitly instructs callers to use the external API base and include `x-api-key: $CRAWLORA_API_KEY`, which implies credential use and network transmission. The file does not include any warning or disclosure about sending data to a third-party service or handling the API key safely.
