Security audit

pet-care-provider-shortlisting

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill coherently fetches public Rover listing data through a disclosed Crawlora API helper and does not show hidden persistence, destructive actions, or unrelated data access.

Install only if you are comfortable using a Crawlora API key and sending pet-care search criteria such as location, service type, and filters to Crawlora. Keep personal home, medical, and account details minimal unless they are truly needed for the comparison.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The skill invokes shell-based functionality (scripts/crawlora.sh) but does not declare any explicit tool scope or allowed-tools boundary. That creates an avoidable trust gap: an agent may grant broader execution capability than necessary, making misuse or prompt-influenced shell execution harder to constrain and audit.
