Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a scoped Crawlora/Spotify catalog research helper that discloses its external API use and does not show hidden, destructive, persistent, or privilege-escalating behavior.

Install only if you are comfortable using Crawlora as an external service for Spotify catalog lookups. Treat CRAWLORA_API_KEY like a credential, avoid sending sensitive private search terms, and keep requests within the artist/release research scope described by the skill.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill advertises use of a bundled shell script but does not declare any explicit tool scope or allowed-tools boundary. That creates a permissions ambiguity where an agent may invoke shell capability more broadly than intended, increasing the risk of command execution or future unsafe extensions without policy visibility.

Data Exfiltration
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
85% confidence
Finding

This markdown file explicitly instructs callers to send requests to an external API using x-api-key: $CRAWLORA_API_KEY, which involves credential use and network transmission. Under the markdown-file warning criteria, there is no accompanying user-facing warning about external requests or careful handling of the API key.
