meta-jobs-research

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Meta jobs lookup helper that sends user-requested queries to Crawlora and does not show hidden persistence, privilege escalation, or unrelated data access.

Install only if you are comfortable using Crawlora as a third-party service for Meta job searches. Store CRAWLORA_API_KEY as an environment variable, do not commit it, and review requests before sending sensitive search context, although the skill is scoped to public Meta Careers data.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding
The skill invokes a shell helper (`scripts/crawlora.sh`) but does not declare any explicit tool scope such as `permissions` or `allowed-tools`. That makes the capability boundary unclear and can allow broader-than-necessary shell execution in environments that rely on manifest declarations for sandboxing and policy enforcement.

#!/usr/bin/env bash
# Crawlora REST helper — minimal, dependency-free (curl only).
# Calls https://api.crawlora.net/api/v1 with your Crawlora API key.

#
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding
Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Confidence
78% confidence
Finding
This markdown file states that requests require the `x-api-key: $CRAWLORA_API_KEY` header, which involves use of a sensitive credential. The endpoint reference does not include any warning or handling guidance about protecting the API key or avoiding accidental disclosure, despite documenting credential-dependent behavior.
