Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Crawlora/PitchBook research helper that makes scoped, read-only API requests for investor shortlist research.

Install only if you are comfortable using Crawlora for investor research and sending your Crawlora API key plus query parameters to Crawlora's API. Keep the key scoped/rotatable if possible, and review outputs as research evidence rather than verified investment advice.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill invokes shell capabilities via scripts/crawlora.sh but does not declare any permissions or allowed-tools scope. That creates a governance gap: an agent runtime or reviewer cannot clearly constrain execution to the minimum required tools, increasing the chance of unintended shell access or broader command execution than the skill actually needs.
