Security audit

influencer-discovery

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill coherently helps find influencers through Crawlora's disclosed API, with no evidence of hidden execution, persistence, or unrelated data access.

Install only if you are comfortable sending campaign search terms, creator identifiers, and your Crawlora API key to Crawlora. Avoid requesting include_email unless you have authorization and a legitimate outreach need, and keep shortlist outputs limited to the data needed for the campaign.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands

Lp3

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding
The skill invokes a bundled shell script but does not declare any tool restrictions or allowed-tools scope. That creates an avoidable trust gap: an agent may execute shell-capable steps without an explicit sandbox or least-privilege boundary, increasing the chance of unintended command execution or misuse if the script or surrounding instructions are modified.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding
The endpoint reference explicitly documents an `include_email` parameter that can return creators' stored contact email addresses, but it provides no user-facing privacy guidance, consent requirements, or restrictions on downstream use. In an influencer-discovery skill, exposing contact data materially increases the risk of harvesting or misuse of personal information, especially if agents automatically request enriched profile data.

# Crawlora REST helper — minimal, dependency-free (curl only).

Finding
Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding
These lines tell the user to set `CRAWLORA_API_KEY` and state that the bundled script sends `x-api-key` to `https://api.crawlora.net/api/v1`. While the behavior is described, there is no explicit user-facing warning about sending credentials and campaign/query data to a third-party service or the associated privacy implications.
