Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed housing-market research helper that calls a scoped Crawlora API using the user's API key.

Install only if you are comfortable sending housing-market queries, optional locations, and your Crawlora API key to Crawlora. Keep the API key in the environment, review requests before running the helper, and treat affordability outputs as modeled market comparisons rather than personal mortgage advice.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands

Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding
The skill explicitly instructs the user to run a bundled shell script, but the manifest declares no tool restrictions such as allowed tools or permissions. That mismatch weakens containment and review controls because a shell-capable skill can invoke local commands and network access without an explicit scope declaration, increasing the chance of unintended command execution or abuse if the script is modified or the skill is reused in a broader agent environment.

External Transmission

Content
#!/usr/bin/env bash
# Crawlora REST helper — minimal, dependency-free (curl only).
# Calls https://api.crawlora.net/api/v1 with your Crawlora API key.
# Get a free key (2,000 credits/mo, no card) at https://crawlora.net?utm_source=github&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=crawlora-skills.
#
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding
Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Vague Triggers

Low
Confidence
77% confidence
Finding
This markdown file says the endpoints should be called via `scripts/crawlora.sh`, but it provides no explicit trigger phrases, activation boundaries, or exclusion conditions for when that workflow should be used. In a skill context, broad workflow references without scope constraints can contribute to unintended invocation because the conditions for using the skill are left implicit.
