Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed read-only crypto market research helper that calls the Crawlora API for public CoinGecko data and does not show hidden persistence, trading, wallet, or account actions.

Install only if you are comfortable using Crawlora as the API intermediary for CoinGecko research. Provide a dedicated Crawlora API key, avoid sending secrets or private wallet/account data as query values, and treat the returned crypto data as informational rather than financial advice.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill demonstrates shell usage in its examples (scripts/crawlora.sh ... | jq) but does not declare any explicit tool restrictions such as permissions or allowed-tools. In an agent environment, undeclared shell capability expands the execution surface and can allow unintended command execution paths or misuse of local tooling, even if the documented purpose is only read-only market research.
