Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Kickstarter research helper that sends user-requested campaign queries to Crawlora and does not install persistence or access local private files.

Install only if you are comfortable sending campaign URLs, query terms, and scrape requests to Crawlora under your Crawlora account. Keep the API key private, bound campaign collection sizes, and use the optional web scrape route only for public pages relevant to the research task.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands

Lp3

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding
The skill invokes shell execution via a bundled script but does not declare any explicit tool scope such as permissions or allowed-tools. That creates an avoidable trust gap: a reviewer or runtime may not clearly understand that code execution is required, increasing the chance of unintended shell access or unsafe execution in broader environments.

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Medium
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding
The skill is scoped to Kickstarter campaign research, but it exposes a generic `web_scrape` endpoint that can fetch arbitrary public URLs outside that narrow purpose. This broadens the skill's effective capability and can enable unreviewed data collection from unrelated sites, creating misuse risk and weakening least-privilege boundaries.

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.
