creator-membership-comparison

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed Crawlora-based helper for comparing public Patreon and Substack membership offers, with no hidden persistence or account-changing behavior found.

Install only if you are comfortable using Crawlora for Patreon/Substack lookups. Set a Crawlora API key knowingly, keep requests within your intended creator/publication scope, and treat returned public pricing and benefits as published offer data rather than proof of private entitlements or service quality.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The skill invokes shell-based tooling (scripts/crawlora.sh) but does not declare any tool scope or allowed-tools restrictions. That omission weakens least-privilege controls and can let an agent execute shell commands more broadly than intended, increasing the chance of command abuse, unintended file/system access, or unsafe command composition if later inputs are incorporated.

Finding

The manifest describes a skill for comparing Patreon tiers and Substack subscription plans for shortlist/benchmark use, centered on creator identity, pricing, cadence, benefits, and plan availability. This endpoint set also exposes broad exploration and search functions such as Patreon topic browsing and Substack-wide post/publication search, which go beyond the stated comparison-focused scope.
