Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed research helper for public congressional financial-disclosure data using Crawlora, with no evidence of hidden persistence, destructive behavior, or unrelated data access.

Install only if you are comfortable sending congressional-disclosure lookup parameters and your Crawlora API key to Crawlora. Keep the API key scoped and private, and treat results as public-record research evidence with the limitations the skill documents.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs use of a bundled shell script and external API access but does not declare any tool restrictions or allowed-tool scope. That increases the chance an agent can invoke shell/network capabilities more broadly than intended, which weakens least-privilege controls and can enable unintended command execution or data exfiltration paths in environments that honor manifest scoping.
