Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill transparently uses a Crawlora API key to query public Fortune and Forbes business data, with no evidence of hidden persistence, destructive actions, or unrelated data access.

Install only if you are comfortable sending your Crawlora API key and query parameters to Crawlora for public Fortune and Forbes research. Keep the API key scoped and private, and use the documented routes rather than modifying the helper for unrelated API access.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
94% confidence
Finding

The skill invokes shell capability via the bundled scripts/crawlora.sh but does not declare any explicit tool scope such as permissions or allowed-tools. That omission weakens least-privilege controls and can allow broader command execution than reviewers or runtime policy expect, especially in agent environments where shell access is sensitive.

External Transmission

Data Exfiltration
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
84% confidence
Finding

This markdown file describes calling external API endpoints and explicitly requires the x-api-key: $CRAWLORA_API_KEY header, but it does not include any user-facing warning about transmitting requests to a third-party service or handling an API secret. For markdown files, SQP-2 applies when descriptions omit warnings about behaviors that could affect privacy or system integrity.
