Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a bounded brand-mention research helper that clearly discloses its external Crawlora API use and does not show hidden persistence, destructive actions, or unrelated data access.

Before installing, be comfortable sending your search queries and selected public social-media retrieval requests to Crawlora using your Crawlora API key. Keep scopes and page budgets tight, avoid sending private or sensitive text as queries, and set language or region parameters when non-US or non-English coverage matters.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

The skill invokes shell-based capability via the bundled scripts/crawlora.sh but does not declare any explicit tool scope or allowed-tools boundary. That increases the risk of overbroad execution in an agent environment, because reviewers and runtime policy cannot easily distinguish the intended networked shell use from other shell actions.

External Transmission

Data Exfiltration
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
92% confidence
Finding

The YouTube search description states that hl and gl default to en and US, which bakes in a specific language and region behavior in the skill's natural-language documentation. This is a locale policy concern because the file does not offer user choice or provide a documented justification for forcing those defaults.
