Market Report

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward crypto market report workflow that uses disclosed CoinMarketCap MCP data tools and does not show hidden, destructive, or persistent behavior.

Install this if you want an agent to produce crypto market summaries using CoinMarketCap MCP data. Be aware it may run for broad crypto market questions, and you will need to configure a CoinMarketCap API key for the MCP server if the tools are not already available.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The trigger phrases are broad natural-language queries like "what's happening in crypto" and "market sentiment," which can match common user requests and cause the skill to auto-invoke when the user did not explicitly ask for this specific workflow. In this skill, unintended invocation can lead to unnecessary external tool calls, surprise use of API-backed MCP resources, and responses being steered into a predefined reporting flow rather than the user's actual intent.
