Competitor Change Monitor

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This skill does what it claims: it monitors user-configured competitor websites and stores local change reports, with no evidence of hidden exfiltration or install-time execution.

Before installing, confirm which public sites will be monitored, how often snapshots should run, how long local reports should be kept, and whether any output will be sent to email, Slack, a database, or another service. Check target-site terms and avoid collecting or forwarding sensitive or non-public content.

Finding
The skill explicitly describes continuous web scraping of competitor websites and delivery of reports via email/Slack, but it does not warn users about legal, compliance, privacy, or confidentiality risks associated with automated scraping and external transmission of collected data. This can cause users to enable monitoring or report delivery without understanding terms-of-service restrictions, data handling implications, or the risk of unintentionally exporting sensitive scraped content to third-party systems.
