Bird Twitter

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a coherent Twitter/X CLI wrapper, but it needs Review because it asks for raw session cookies and enables live posting and account changes without clear safety warnings.

Install only if you are comfortable giving the bird CLI access to your Twitter/X session. Treat AUTH_TOKEN and CT0 like passwords: do not share, log, commit, or paste them into untrusted prompts or tools, and use explicit confirmation before any tweet, reply, follow, or unfollow action.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Finding

The skill explicitly documents commands that can post tweets, reply, follow, and unfollow using the user's authenticated Twitter/X session, but it does not prominently warn that these are account-changing actions requiring deliberate user confirmation. In an agent setting, this increases the risk of unintended social actions, spam, reputational harm, or modification of the user's account state if the commands are invoked automatically or misunderstood.

Missing User Warnings

Confidence

Finding

The skill instructs users to manually extract browser cookie values (auth_token and ct0) from Twitter/X and export them as environment variables, but it does not warn that these are highly sensitive session credentials. Exposure of these tokens can let another party act as the user on Twitter/X, potentially enabling account takeover-like session abuse, privacy loss, and unauthorized posting or relationship changes.
