Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a Chinese-language SBTI personality-test skill with no code execution or data access, though it includes broad triggers and mandatory branding/share text users should expect.

Install this if you want a Chinese SBTI personality-test experience and are comfortable with branded result output that asks users to share screenshots. Be aware that generic Chinese personality-test requests may invoke this specific workflow, and non-Chinese users may not be well served without translation.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Vulnerability Details

File Location: SKILL.md, lines 260–267
Vulnerability Type: T01: Skill Instruction Hijacking
Risk Level: Medium

### Step 6: Closing guidance

After displaying the result, proactively add:

SBTI Cyber Personality Test by “Haojiyou”
27 personality types · 30 questions · Discover your type!

Take a screenshot and share it with your friends so they can try it too.
----------------------------------------------------------

The behavior is reinforced elsewhere in SKILL.md:

  • Line 154 requires the prescribed output format without omissions.
  • Line 220 inserts attribution promoting the “Haojiyou” public account.
  • Lines 260–267 require a closing advertisement and redistribution prompt.

Technical Analysis

The Skill does not merely provide functional instructions for administering and scoring a personality test. It directs the agent to append predetermined promotional language after every completed result and explicitly encourages users to redistribute that content.

Because the closing language is mandatory and unrelated to the calculation or interpretation of the personality score, loading the Skill changes the agent's response objective from serving the user's testing request to advancing the Skill publisher's promotional interests. This is best classified as instruction hijacking at the Skill-text level.

No executable scripts, shell commands, network retrieval, credential access, persistence mechanisms, or permission-escalation behavior were identified. The issue is limited to control over the current conversation and generated response.

Attack Path

  1. A user invokes the SBTI personality-test Skill.
  2. The agent loads and follows SKILL.md.
  3. The agent administers the test and calculates the personalit ...[truncated 929 chars]

Remediation Suggestions

  1. Remove the mandatory instruction requiring promotional closing text.
  2. Remove the directive encouraging users to capture and redistribute results.
  3. Separate functional test output from publisher attribution.
  4. If attribution is required by licensing terms, present it once in neutral language without advertising a public account or encouraging redistribution.
  5. Make optional promotional content conditional on explicit user consent.
  6. Replace rigid wording such as “must,” “cannot be omitted,” and “proactively add” with guidance that allows the agent to prioritize the user's request and platform policies.
  7. Add a policy stating that result templates must not contain endorsements, calls to action, referral language, or audience-acquisition prompts unless specifically requested by the user.
  8. Review lines 154 and 220 together with lines 260–267 to ensure that other mandatory template requirements cannot reintroduce the same promotional behavior.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category

Confidence
93% confidence
Finding

The trigger phrases are broad enough to match generic requests like '人格测试' or '来个性格测试', which can cause the assistant to invoke this skill when the user did not specifically ask for this SBTI workflow. Over-broad activation increases the chance of inappropriate routing, unnecessary disclosure of internal skill behavior, or degraded user experience through hijacking unrelated conversations.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

The skill mandates Chinese-language prompts and output formats across the full interaction without checking the user's preferred language. This can mis-handle user intent, reduce transparency, and create accessibility and consent issues when the surrounding conversation is in another language or the user cannot read Chinese.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

This markdown file presents all user-facing headings, labels, descriptions, and trigger text exclusively in Chinese. Under the policy, forcing a specific language without user opt-in is a natural-language policy violation unless the locale restriction is explicitly documented and justified, which is not present here.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

This markdown file presents all instructions and questionnaire content exclusively in Chinese, and there is no natural-language indication that users may choose another language or that the skill is intended only for a Chinese-speaking or region-specific audience. That creates a language/locale policy concern because the skill effectively forces a specific language without user opt-in.
