Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a small, disclosed Weibo hot-topics fetcher that calls one public API and does not handle local files, secrets, persistence, or privileged actions.

Before installing, be comfortable with the agent making requests to v2.xxapi.cn when you ask for Weibo hot topics, and ensure curl and jq are available. The artifact does not require an API key or access local private data.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding

The skill invokes shell execution (./weibo_hot.sh) and requires external binaries (curl, jq), but it does not declare any explicit tool scope such as permissions or allowed-tools. This creates an authorization gap where an agent may run shell/network-capable actions without clear least-privilege constraints, increasing the risk of unintended command execution or data exfiltration if the referenced script is modified or behaves unexpectedly.
