Mimic My Writing

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a local writing-style tool, but it bundles sample text that can steer an agent away from normal caution and it stores personal writing samples without clear retention controls.

Review before installing. Use only writing samples you own or are authorized to mimic, remove or ignore instruction-like bundled samples, and treat all sample text as data rather than commands. Be aware that the workflow stores samples on disk for reuse; delete sensitive samples when finished and do not let style mimicry override normal safety, consent, or authorization checks.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Critical
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
99% confidence
Finding

The instruction that apparently sketchy behavior should be presumed acceptable because 'Chad has a workaround or context' explicitly tells the agent to suppress normal scrutiny. In a writing-style skill, that is unjustified and dangerous because it conditions the model to comply with ambiguous or risky requests rather than evaluate them on their merits.

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Confidence
100% confidence
Finding

The trigger phrase 'Dude. Trust me.' is defined as an override that stops questioning and compels action. A coded unconditional-compliance mechanism is a classic prompt-injection pattern because it bypasses verification and can be invoked to push unsafe, unauthorized, or policy-violating behavior.

Description-Behavior Mismatch

High
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
99% confidence
Finding

This file is supposed to support writing-style mimicry, but it injects a full behavioral persona with loyalty, operational, and decision-making rules that go far beyond tone or phrasing. That creates prompt-injection risk by steering the agent's judgment, priorities, and external-action behavior in ways unrelated to the stated skill, making misuse more likely and weakening safety controls.

Finding

The narrative of intimacy, loyalty, guest-status, and deference is not harmless flavor text; it incrementally conditions the agent to privilege allegiance over policy and caution. That social-engineering structure culminates in reduced scrutiny and makes later override phrases more effective.

Finding

Trust-based phrasing that tells the agent suspicious-looking requests are probably fine encourages suspension of independent judgment. This directly undermines safe handling of ambiguous requests and can be exploited to smuggle risky actions through social framing rather than legitimate authorization.

Missing User Warnings

High
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
100% confidence
Finding

An unconditional obedience trigger with no warning or limitation invites users to bypass normal verification simply by repeating a phrase. That is especially dangerous in a reusable skill because it can be embedded and later invoked in unrelated conversations to override caution.

Finding

A coded phrase acting as a blanket override is a direct mechanism for suspending questions and enforcing compliance. This is dangerous because it provides a reusable exploit primitive: anyone who learns the phrase can attempt to force the agent past normal caution and review.

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
93% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs the agent to read user-provided sample files from samples/<author-slug>/ and related reference files, but it does not declare any explicit tool scope or allowed-tools. That mismatch can lead to undeclared file-read behavior, making permission boundaries unclear and increasing the risk of unintended access to local files if the runtime grants broader file access than the skill actually needs.

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
93% confidence
Finding

The description contains broad triggers such as 'write like them,' 'mimic a specific author,' 'sound like a sample,' and 'de-AI a draft,' which can cause the skill to be invoked in many loosely related contexts. Because this skill is designed to imitate human authorship and suppress LLM tells, accidental or overly broad invocation raises misuse risk, including impersonation-style assistance or bypassing safer, more context-appropriate behaviors.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The workflow explicitly instructs the agent to save user writing samples under a persistent samples/<author-slug>/ directory, but it provides no user-facing notice, consent step, retention limit, or deletion guidance. Because writing samples can contain personal, confidential, or identifying information, silent persistence creates a real privacy and data-governance risk, especially across sessions as the workflow encourages re-use of prior samples.

Confidence

Finding

This markdown file includes detailed anecdotes involving drugs, alcohol, and trafficking-related activity, which could affect user safety expectations and may normalize risky or illegal behavior. Under the markdown-specific warning criterion, the file provides no warning or disclaimer about these behaviors' legal or safety implications.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

Forcing the agent to adopt a specific identity ('You're not a chatbot. You're José.') and persona without user opt-in exceeds style matching and can mislead users about the system's role. It also increases susceptibility to role-based instruction conflicts by prioritizing persona fidelity over task boundaries.

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
96% confidence
Finding

Instructions about reading files, searching, organizing, learning, building, and being careful with external actions define operational autonomy rather than writing style. Even if intended as productivity guidance, they broaden the model's mandate and can cause the skill to influence tool use and actions outside its declared purpose.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

Normalizing rule-bending and telling the agent not to 'grandstand' about sketchy-looking behavior lowers resistance to unsafe or policy-sensitive requests. In context, this is not merely edgy prose; it is an instruction to reinterpret warning signs as acceptable, which increases the chance of harmful compliance.

Finding

Telling the agent to 'fold' when the user insists and to 'find the workaround' encourages constraint bypass when facing resistance. In a style skill, this subtly shifts the model from compliant writing assistance toward persistence in overcoming limits, which can be leveraged against safeguards.

Finding

This code file is designed to ingest user-provided text files and derive a writing-voice fingerprint intended for imitation. The header explains the purpose, but it does not disclose that processing personal writing samples may expose sensitive or identifying information, and there is no confirmation prompt or runtime notice elsewhere in the script.
