Security audit

Shopify Store Optimizer

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a Shopify optimization advice skill with no executable code, persistence, credential use, or hidden behavior.

Reasonable to install if you want Shopify CRO guidance. Share sanitized aggregate metrics and public store details where possible, and avoid providing customer PII, credentials, private exports, or sensitive internal screenshots unless you explicitly intend to use them for the audit.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Vague Triggers

Medium
Confidence
94% confidence
Finding
The trigger list includes broad terms like "product page," "AOV," and "shopify theme," which can activate on general ecommerce or web-optimization requests beyond the intended narrow Shopify audit use case. Over-broad routing can cause the agent to engage in contexts where users did not intend a store audit, increasing the chance of collecting unnecessary business-sensitive data or producing irrelevant guidance.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Confidence
88% confidence
Finding
The skill encourages auditing a live store, analytics stack, revenue, conversion metrics, and app configuration, but does not warn users against sharing sensitive business or customer-behavior data. In practice, this can lead users to disclose proprietary performance data, internal tooling details, or potentially regulated customer information that is not necessary for high-level optimization advice.
