Airflow Dag Analyzer

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a read-only Airflow DAG review guide with a minor risk of activating too broadly on the generic term DAG.

Install only if you want Codex to review Apache Airflow DAG files. Point it at a specific DAG directory or file, and avoid using it for unrelated graph or workflow code where the generic DAG trigger could be a poor fit.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Vague Triggers

Finding

The trigger list includes very broad terms such as "DAG," which can cause the skill to activate in contexts unrelated to Apache Airflow. Over-broad activation increases the chance the agent applies this skill to the wrong files or prompts, creating misrouting, irrelevant analysis, and possible exposure of unrelated repository contents during automated scans.

Vague Triggers

Finding

The usage guidance tells users when to invoke the skill but does not define clear boundaries for when it should not be used. This ambiguity can lead to accidental invocation on non-Airflow Python code or mixed infrastructure repositories, reducing reliability and potentially broadening the scope of files the agent reads unnecessarily.
