Security audit

check-ao-transaction

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill checks a user-provided AO bridge transaction hash through a hardcoded AOX API and does not show hidden access, persistence, or destructive behavior.

Before installing, be aware that any transaction hash you ask it to check will be sent to the AOX API. This is expected for the lookup function, but users who do not want that external request should avoid using the skill.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • MCP Least PrivilegeUnderdeclared Capability, Wildcard Permission, Missing Permission Declaration
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
89% confidence
Finding

The skill declares an executable command (node script/index.js) that likely performs network access, but the manifest does not explicitly constrain tool scope via permissions or allowed-tools. In an agent environment, this can lead to broader-than-expected network-capable execution, reducing isolation and making review and enforcement of least privilege harder.

Natural-Language Policy Violations

Confidence

Finding

The trigger and operational instructions are written as a directive in Chinese, with no indication that the skill can respond in the user's preferred language. This creates a natural-language locale policy concern because it implicitly constrains interaction to a specific language without opt-in or justification.

External Transmission

Data Exfiltration
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Data is being sent to an external URL. This could be legitimate telemetry or data exfiltration. Manual review is recommended.

Finding

The comment on L74 says "Hymatrix", but the actual request on L75 goes to the AOX endpoint defined in the manifest context. This is an active documentation/code mismatch that could mislead reviewers about which external service is being contacted.
