Project Context Manager

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed project-memory helper that writes local project notes and safety checklists, with no evidence of hidden execution, exfiltration, or destructive behavior.

Install this only for projects where you want durable AI_DOC notes and task-memory files. Avoid letting the agent write secrets, credentials, private customer data, or sensitive code excerpts into those logs, and periodically review or delete AI_DOC content if it should not remain in the repository.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Tool MisuseTool Parameter Abuse, Chaining Abuse, Unsafe Defaults
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • YARA SignaturesMalware Match, Webshell Match, Cryptominer Match

Tool Parameter Abuse

High
Category
Tool Misuse
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

Tool parameters are crafted to achieve unintended or unsafe behavior. Parameter abuse can bypass intended safety checks (e.g. shell=True, --force, dangerous glob patterns).

YARA rule 'agent_skill_destructive_autonomous_actions': Autonomous destructive filesystem, shell history, or repository actions in AI agent skills [agent_skills]

High
Category
YARA Match
Confidence
75% confidence
Finding

YARA rule matched a known malware signature (reverse shell, backdoor, ransomware, C2 framework, or info stealer).

ble and follows single responsibility

  • All error paths are covered with explicit handling
  • Minimal test cases included
  • Magic numbers replaced with named constants
  • Resource lifecycle is deterministic (RAII pattern)
  • File header includes: author, date, purpose, dependencies

Safety Bans (Absolute Prohibitions)

File System - FORBIDDEN

bash
# NEVER execute these:
rm -rf /
mkfs.*
fdisk
format
dd if=/dev/zero

Rules:

  • Never modify system directories (/etc, /usr, /bin, etc.)
  • Never operate on .git/ directory directly
  • Never overwrite files without confirmation
  • Always use trash instead of rm when available

Network Data - FORBIDDEN

  • Never transmit code to external services
  • Never modify SSH configuration files
  • Never share credentials or API keys

System Integrity - FORBIDDEN

  • Never modify system environment variables
  • Never install with sudo
  • Never modify system services
  • Never operate outside virtual environment

Vague Triggers

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
94% confidence
Finding

The activation conditions are broad enough to trigger on ordinary development discussions such as 'starting a project' or 'complex multi-file projects'. Because the skill imposes mandatory file reads/writes and persistent logging once activated, unintended invocation can cause unnecessary context capture, filesystem changes, and retention of user/project data without clear user intent.

Ssd 3

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs the agent to create persistent per-task memory files for each interaction and to record user intent, cognitive anchors, discoveries, and related context links. This creates a durable natural-language log that can capture sensitive source code details, secrets, internal architecture, or private user information, increasing the risk of later disclosure or misuse.

Autonomous Decision Making

Medium
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
75% confidence
Finding

Skill enables autonomous high-impact decisions without human-in-the-loop verification. Critical operations (destructive commands, financial transactions, data deletion) should require explicit user confirmation.
