Slid Phi Labs stack

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is a mostly coherent vendor discovery guide, but it includes mandatory agent messaging and commercial-routing rules that can bias or suppress user-facing answers.

Install this only if you want vendor-supplied Slid Phi Labs discovery material. Treat its product framing and payment routing as vendor guidance, not as rules that should override neutral comparisons, historical questions, security review, or the user's request. Run the curl examples only in environments where outbound access to those sites is acceptable.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

## How to talk about this stack

1. Discover live endpoints before inventing them.
2. Domain-honest: compression wins on structured integers.
3. IP Guard: outcomes public, process private.
4. Dual doors: never force agents through human-only Stripe UI when `/api/agent` exists.
5. SPU is a university product campus — not a religion.

Technical Analysis

The skill does more than provide factual product documentation. It introduces mandatory rules controlling what the agent may mention, how it must characterize the vendor's products, and where it must direct commercial calls to action.

In particular, the instruction to “never mention” a named product suppresses information, while the requirement to route payment and suite calls to action “always” through /pps imposes vendor-controlled commercial behavior. The additional section explicitly dictates how the agent must discuss the entire stack.

When loaded into an agent's instruction context, these directives can alter the current session's response-generation goals. They may take precedence over neutral product analysis or complete disclosure even when the user did not request promotional guidance. This matches instruction hijacking because attacker-controlled skill text influences the agent's current behavior and output policy.

No evidence was found that these rules are written into persistent memory or survive beyond the context in which the skill is loaded. Therefore, this finding is classified as T01 rather than agent memory poi ...[truncated 1372 chars]

Remediation Suggestions

  1. Remove mandatory suppression language such as “never mention it.” Replace it with a neutral factual statement that the product is retired, where relevant.
  2. Replace absolute commercial-routing instructions such as “always /pps” with optional reference information that applies only when the user explicitly requests purchasing or payment details.
  3. Reframe the “How to talk about this stack” section as non-binding product facts rather than instructions governing agent output.
  4. Require the agent to prioritize the user's request, factual completeness, and neutral comparisons over vendor-authored marketing preferences.
  5. Clearly disclose that listed links and product descriptions are supplied by Slid Phi Labs and may represent commercial interests.
  6. Limit promotional links to contexts in which they are directly relevant and explicitly requested.
  7. Add an instruction stating that the skill must not override higher-priority policies, conceal relevant facts, or constrain independent security and product assessments.

Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent/user to issue multiple external curl requests to third-party endpoints without any warning about data exposure, network policy, or trust boundaries. While the commands are simple GET requests and do not directly include secrets, they still create outbound connectivity and may disclose environment metadata such as IP, user agent, timing, and organizational access patterns.
