Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This Spotify MCP skill is coherent and purpose-aligned, with expected but real credential and account-access considerations for Spotify use.

Install only if you are comfortable granting Spotify account access for playback, playlist/library-related actions, and listening-history features. Treat ~/.aux-mcp/ as sensitive, do not share the stored token files, and revoke the Spotify app or delete that directory if you stop using the skill.

Finding
The setup instructions explicitly direct users to perform a login that stores tokens under ~/.aux-mcp/ and to install/register binaries, but the documentation does not clearly warn about local credential storage, file locations, persistence, or installation side effects. This can lead users to create long-lived local secrets or system changes without informed consent, increasing the chance of token exposure on shared machines or from weak filesystem hygiene.
