Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a small documentation-only skill for an external memory service, with the main risk being ordinary privacy caution around persistent memory.

Before installing, treat anything sent to this memory layer as potentially stored by a third-party service. Do not persist secrets, regulated data, or confidential user content unless you have consent and understand the provider's retention and deletion controls.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill explicitly promotes persistent identity, long-term memory, and context enrichment backed by an external API key, but it provides no warning about sending sensitive user data to a third-party service or about retention, consent, and privacy boundaries. In an agent setting, operators may unknowingly route personal, confidential, or regulated data into persistent storage, creating avoidable privacy and compliance risk.
