Security audit

Pipeworx coingecko

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a simple CoinGecko market-data MCP configuration, but users should notice it routes through a third-party gateway rather than an official CoinGecko domain.

Before installing, understand that cryptocurrency requests and returned market data will pass through a Pipeworx-hosted MCP gateway, not directly through an official CoinGecko endpoint. Avoid relying on it alone for financial decisions, and verify important price or market data against another trusted source.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Insecure DependenciesIntroduces malicious components through unsafe dependency sources
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
