Software List Export

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill creates a local installed-software inventory for migration or reinstall planning, with no evidence of hidden collection, exfiltration, persistence, or destructive behavior.

Install only if you want Codex to create a local inventory of installed applications. Review the CSV before sharing it, because software lists can reveal workplace tools, security products, and personal usage patterns.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The script inventories installed software from the Windows uninstall registry and winget and outputs the results without any user-facing notice, confirmation, or minimization. While this aligns with the stated skill purpose, installed software lists can reveal sensitive business tools, security products, and user habits, so collecting and exporting them without explicit disclosure creates a privacy/security risk.
