Security audit

speckit-orchestrator

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This markdown-only skill coordinates a spec-driven development workflow and does not show hidden, destructive, or credential-seeking behavior.

Install this if you use spec-kit workflows and are comfortable with it reading and updating project-level spec artifacts. Be aware that its generic triggers may load it during ordinary planning or specification requests, so review activation behavior if your environment supports narrowing triggers.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

Finding
The trigger list includes broad generic terms such as "workflow," "orchestration," "planning," and "specification," which are likely to match many unrelated user requests. This can cause unintended activation of the skill, pulling in its orchestration behavior and dependencies in contexts where the user did not intend to run the full Spec Driven Development workflow.
