Security audit

geo-citability

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is a coherent web-content analysis helper that fetches a user-specified page and writes a local citability report, with no evidence of hidden execution, persistence, credential access, or exfiltration.

Before installing, expect the skill to fetch the page you ask it to analyze and create a local GEO-CITABILITY-SCORE.md report. Ask the agent to confirm the output path and avoid overwriting an existing file; only allow Bash commands if you specifically want to use an installed seogeo CLI.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Finding

The skill explicitly instructs the agent to generate a local file (GEO-CITABILITY-SCORE.md) but does not warn the user that running the skill will write to the workspace. This can cause unexpected filesystem side effects, overwrite existing files, or create artifacts in sensitive directories if the execution context is not clearly scoped.
