Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward guide for using Apify's TikTok scraper to find fitness-related business prospects, with expected third-party API use and local exports disclosed in the instructions.

Before installing, be aware that searches and scraper inputs go to Apify and may retrieve TikTok profile and engagement data about people or businesses. Use a scoped APIFY_TOKEN, avoid sensitive search terms, store exports carefully, and follow TikTok, Apify, and your organization’s data-handling rules.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

External Transmission

Category
Data Exfiltration
Confidence
82% confidence
Finding

The REST API example sends user-supplied search terms and authentication credentials to an external service (Apify), which is a real external data transmission path. In this skill's context that behavior is expected and necessary, but it is still security-relevant because users may unknowingly transmit sensitive search targets, URLs, or tokens to a third party.

REST API fallback

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/apidojo~tiktok-scraper/runs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"keywords": ["fitness studio", "gym owner"], "sortType": "MOST_LIKED", "maxItems": 100}'

Missing User Warnings

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill explicitly collects TikTok profile metadata, hashtags, and engagement metrics and shows examples for saving results to CSV/JSON, but the description does not warn users that third-party platform data will be gathered and may be written to local files. This is primarily a transparency and privacy-consent issue rather than an exploit primitive, but it can lead to unintended collection or storage of personal/business profile data.
