Security audit

Shopify Product Promo

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This skill does what it says: it sends a public product page to Revid to generate a short promo video, with the main caveat that Revid receives the URL and extracted product details.

Install this only if you are comfortable sharing the product page URL and extracted public product details with Revid. Avoid private, staging, authenticated, or unreleased storefront pages, and protect REVID_API_KEY like any other API secret.

Finding
The skill sends user-supplied product URLs and scraped page content to Revid for processing, but it does not clearly warn the user about that external transmission. This creates a transparency and privacy risk, especially if users provide non-public, internal, or sensitive storefront URLs and do not realize page contents will be fetched and transmitted to a third-party service.
