deacon-goals

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill adds expected Deacon analytics tracking, though its sign-up examples need correction to avoid counting failed registrations.

Review the added goals and project note. Track sign-ups only after confirmed account creation, verify failed registrations send no event, and keep personal data out of event properties. Use development accounts and test checkout for verification.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • MCP Tool PoisoningHidden Instructions, Unicode Deception, Parameter Description Injection
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code

The registration example records attempted sign-ups rather than successfully created accounts, contradicting the stated tracking rules.

Finding

The Rails example attaches the 'Sign up' goal to form submission, so rejected registrations can be recorded as successfully created accounts, compromising analytics integrity. Although the skill explicitly requires success-only tracking elsewhere, this copyable example—and the similar final handoff note—can lead an implementing agent to inflate conversion metrics; it does not itself bypass registration or grant account access.
