Security audit

Gmail Local

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This skill transparently provides local Gmail read/search/send access using a user-provided app password, with sensitive access disclosed and send actions gated by confirmation.

Install only if you are comfortable giving this local helper access to your Gmail mailbox through a Google App Password. Keep the password file private with 0600 permissions, revoke or rotate the app password when you stop using the skill, and review recipients, subject, and body before approving any send.

Finding
The skill clearly relies on sensitive capabilities: reading environment variables and reading a local file containing a Gmail App Password. If permissions are not explicitly declared, the platform may not present an accurate trust surface to users or enforce least-privilege controls, which increases the risk of unexpected credential access.
