Pin the package to an explicitly reviewed version:

Document the official npm package name, publisher identity, expected registry, and reviewed version so users can verify package provenance.

Prefer a project-local dependency recorded in
package.jsonand a committed lockfile. Install it with a lockfile-enforcing command such asnpm ci, then invoke the local binary. -
Verify package integrity using the npm lockfile integrity field, a published checksum, or a signed release where available.

Review the pinned package and its transitive dependencies before recommending execution.

Run the CLI with least privilege in a restricted environment or container. Do not run it as an administrator or root user.

Limit credential exposure. Use a narrowly scoped, revocable key and ensure only the intended process receives it. Rotate the key immediately if package compromise is suspected.

Where practical, prefer the documented direct HTTPS API request over executing a dynamically retrieved CLI package.
