Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a coherent IPFS upload, retrieval, and listing guide for AgentPMT, with expected external storage risks that users should understand before uploading files.

Install only if you intend to use AgentPMT and IPFS. Do not upload secrets, credentials, regulated data, or confidential files unless you have intentionally encrypted them first and understand that pinned IPFS content, CIDs, gateway links, and filenames may remain accessible or reveal sensitive context.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep

Missing User Warnings

Not specified by scanner
Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The skill encourages uploading and pinning content to IPFS but does not clearly warn that uploaded data can become publicly accessible, easily replicated across gateways, and difficult to retract once addressed by CID. In this context, users may inadvertently upload sensitive documents, secrets, or regulated data under the mistaken assumption that the service behaves like private cloud storage.

Missing User Warnings

Medium
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
97% confidence
Finding

The upload action explicitly accepts raw file content and an optional pinning API key, but the schema does not clearly warn that both are transmitted to an external service and may be stored or logged outside the local agent environment. Because this skill uploads to IPFS and may use shared service credentials by default, users could unintentionally disclose sensitive files or secrets to third-party infrastructure and immutable/public-addressed storage.

Missing User Warnings

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
86% confidence
Finding

The list capability exposes prior upload metadata such as filenames, CIDs, dates, and gateway links, but the documentation does not warn that these details can reveal sensitive business context or facilitate access to previously stored public content. In an IPFS workflow, metadata alone may disclose project names, customer identities, or direct references to immutable content.
