Security audit

Spotify

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a straightforward macOS Spotify controller with a small caution that generic “play music” wording could trigger Spotify when the user did not explicitly name it.

Install this if you want an agent to control the local Spotify desktop app on macOS. Be aware it may install shpotify through Homebrew, and for generic music requests you may want to explicitly say whether Spotify should be used.

Finding
The skill description is broad enough to activate on general music-related requests, even when the user did not explicitly ask to use Spotify. That can cause the agent to invoke this skill in situations where a different music service, a non-action informational response, or no device control at all was intended, leading to unintended application control.
