Security audit

API Architect

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This is a Markdown-only API design and testing guide with example commands, not hidden executable behavior.

Installers should treat the curl and load-test snippets as examples only: replace placeholder URLs carefully, prefer staging environments, avoid using production tokens casually, and review the README's promotional links separately from the skill behavior.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Excessive AgencyUnrestricted Tool Access, Autonomous Decision Making, Scope Creep
  • Tool MisuseTool Parameter Abuse, Chaining Abuse, Unsafe Defaults
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

Chaining Abuse

High
Category
Tool Misuse
Confidence
75% confidence
Finding

Tool calls are chained to bypass individual safety checks or escalate capabilities beyond what any single tool call would allow.

Context-Inappropriate Capability

Low
Category
Not specified by scanner
Confidence
90% confidence
Finding

The manifest describes a skill for designing, building, testing, documenting, and securing APIs. The README adds marketing content for paid context packs and unrelated AfrexAI skills, which is not justified by the operational purpose of an API architecture skill and represents an extra promotional capability rather than skill behavior.
