Security audit

X Writing DNA

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

The skill is a disclosed workflow for collecting public X writing samples and producing local audit/profile outputs, with no evidence of hidden crawling, credential theft, or destructive behavior.

Install only if you are comfortable letting the host agent use an authorized browser or official API to read public X content and write local corpus, audit, and profile files. Keep it pointed at user-selected public accounts, avoid collecting private/session data, and use a fresh output directory for audits.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs

Findings (3)

Session Persistence

Medium
Category
Rogue Agent
Confidence
60% confidence
Finding

Skill establishes unauthorized persistence across sessions via cron jobs, startup scripts, or state files. Session persistence allows an attacker to maintain access beyond the current interaction.

md
- Analyzes six expression axes plus judgment origin, choices and tradeoffs, and recurring evaluation criteria.
- Produces reusable writing methods with source works, counterexamples, scope limits and a training handoff.

This is an agent-operated browser workflow. Installation does not create an unattended crawler. An authenticated browser tool or an authorized official API must be available to the host agent. It does not bypass access controls or extract credentials.

Undeclared Tool Scope

Medium
Category
MCP Least Privilege
Confidence
91% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs the agent to use browser/network access to collect public posts and to read and write local files such as capture.jsonl, audits, and report outputs, but it declares no explicit tool scope or permissions boundary. That mismatch can let a host agent grant broader capabilities than intended, making it easier for the skill to access arbitrary files or perform uncontrolled network actions beyond the described workflow.

Scope Creep

Low
Category
Excessive Agency
Confidence
70% confidence
Finding

Skill's behavior or capabilities extend beyond its stated purpose. Scope creep allows an agent to perform actions unrelated to its documented functionality, increasing the attack surface.
