Agent Heartbeat

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This is an instruction-only guide for scheduled agent heartbeat tasks; it does not run code on install, but recurring cleanup, backup, and sync tasks should be scoped carefully.

Install only if you intentionally want guidance for recurring agent heartbeat tasks. Before enabling any heartbeat, keep tasks lightweight and idempotent, approve exact directories and remote destinations, avoid destructive cleanup by default, and make sure there is logging plus a simple way to pause or disable the schedule.

Finding
The skill recommends periodic actions such as cleaning temporary files, backing up important data, and syncing remote state, but it does not include safeguards around scope, authorization, data sensitivity, or failure modes. In a long-running agent context, recurring file and remote-state operations can amplify mistakes or abuse, causing repeated data loss, data exfiltration, or unintended system changes over time.
