Specify

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This Specify skill is coherent, but it gives agents broad authenticated access that can change or delete live collection records without clear confirmation rules.

Install only if you trust Membrane and need agent access to Specify. Use a least-privileged Specify account, prefer discovered Membrane actions over raw proxy calls, and require explicit confirmation before any operation that creates, updates, deletes, bulk-edits, or sends raw API requests against live records.

Finding
The skill explicitly documents raw proxy requests supporting POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE without any warning, confirmation guidance, or guardrails for destructive operations. In a data-management system like Specify, this increases the chance an agent or user performs unintended record creation, modification, or deletion against live collection data.
