Self-Direction
ReviewAudited by ClawScan on May 10, 2026.
Overview
This instruction-only skill shows no code execution or exfiltration, but it persistently builds a broad personal decision profile and can pass it to sub-agents, so it needs careful review.
Before installing, decide whether you are comfortable with a persistent local profile of your goals, preferences, boundaries, money/time priorities, and decision patterns. If you use it, inspect the ~/self-direction/ files, add explicit rules for deletion and review, and require approval before the agent applies inferred preferences to important or irreversible actions.
Findings (2)
Artifact-based informational review of SKILL.md, metadata, install specs, static scan signals, and capability signals. ClawScan does not execute the skill or run runtime probes.
The agent may store sensitive personal or work preferences and later rely on inferred memories when making decisions, even if those inferences are incomplete, stale, or not explicitly approved.
The skill directs the agent to build and reuse a persistent model of the user's values, goals, decision criteria, resources, boundaries, and thinking patterns.
This skill captures your complete direction system progressively... Use learned direction to make future decisions autonomously
Use only if you want persistent personalization. Review ~/self-direction/ regularly, remove sensitive entries, require explicit approval for high-impact actions, and add clear deletion/retention rules.
Relevant parts of the user's personal direction profile may be shared with sub-agents. The document includes scoping and escalation guidance, but the actual trust boundary depends on the runtime and sub-agent setup.
The skill intentionally packages portions of the user's direction model into frames for sub-agents.
How to pass direction to sub-agents so they stay aligned with the user's goals.
Share only task-specific subsets with trusted sub-agents, keep boundaries non-relaxable, and avoid including sensitive personal details unless necessary.
