Network Device Monitor

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This skill is a disclosed local network scanner that saves device history locally; it has privacy and usage cautions but no evidence of hidden exfiltration or destructive behavior.

Install only if you intend to actively scan an authorized network. Prefer non-root nmap mode when possible, use narrow scan ranges, remember ARP mode scans the local network, and protect or delete ~/.network-state.json if saved device inventory is sensitive.

Finding
The script persistently stores a network inventory, including MAC addresses, IPs, hostnames, and device presence history, in a predictable file under the user's home directory without setting restrictive permissions or clearly disclosing retention. On multi-user systems or in environments with permissive umask/settings, this can expose sensitive internal network metadata useful for reconnaissance.
