Gateway Guardian

Security checks across malware telemetry and agentic risk

Overview

This gateway watchdog mostly does what it says, but it can message a fixed Telegram account and overwrite local OpenClaw configuration without clearly telling the user.

Review guardian.sh before running it. Remove or replace the hardcoded Telegram recipient, make alerts opt-in, and keep a separate backup of ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json before allowing the script to restore configuration automatically.

Finding
The script sends operational failure details to a hardcoded Telegram recipient, which causes external data egress to a third party without user consent or configurability. In a local admin utility, this is more dangerous because service status, recovery state, and operational commands can reveal sensitive infrastructure information and create an unintended monitoring backchannel.
