Node.js Installation

Installation

Step 1: Install OpenClaw CLI

Step 2: Run Configuration Wizard

The wizard will guide through:

Step 3: Configure API Keys

API keys are stored in ~/.openclaw/credentials/ (or %USERPROFILE%\.openclaw\credentials\ on Windows).

Channel Setup

Telegram Bot Setup

  1. Create Bot:

    • Open @BotFather on Telegram
    • Send /newbot
    • Follow instructions to get bot token
  2. Configure OpenClaw:

  1. Restart Gateway:
openclaw gateway restart

Security Policies

DM Policy Options:

  • open: Accept messages from anyone (for public bots)
  • pairing: Require pairing code approval (default, more secure)

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

1. Node.js version mismatch:
