## Paper 1: Productive Skills (Writing)

### Criterion A: Language (12 marks)
- **9-12**: Excellent command, wide range of vocabulary and structures, minimal errors
- **7-8**: Good command, good range, some errors that don't impede communication
- **5-6**: Adequate command, adequate range, errors sometimes impede communication
- **3-4**: Limited command, limited range, errors impede communication
- **1-2**: Very limited command, very limited range, errors seriously impede communication

### Criterion B: Message (12 marks)
- **9-12**: Fully relevant, ideas well developed, convincing
- **7-8**: Mostly relevant, ideas developed, mostly convincing
- **5-6**: Generally relevant, ideas somewhat developed, somewhat convincing
- **3-4**: Partially relevant, ideas not well developed, not very convincing
- **1-2**: Hardly relevant, ideas hardly developed, unconvincing

### Criterion C: Conceptual Understanding (6 marks)
- **5-6**: Excellent awareness of audience, purpose, context; appropriate register and tone
- **3-4**: Good awareness; mostly appropriate register and tone
- **1-2**: Limited awareness; register and tone not always appropriate

### Criterion D: Organization (6 marks)
- **5-6**: Effectively organized, coherent, excellent use of cohesive devices
- **3-4**: Generally organized, generally coherent, adequate cohesive devices
- **1-2**: Poorly organized, lacks coherence, inadequate cohesive devices

### Criterion E: Format and Style (4 marks)
- **4**: Excellent use of conventions for text type
- **3**: Good use of conventions
- **2**: Adequate use of conventions
- **1**: Limited use of conventions

Range, accuracy, fluency of spoken language
